An Allegiant flight takes off Nov. 5 from Punta Gorda Airport.

PUNTA GORDA — One new flight out of Punta Gorda Airport takes off today and another destination is set to begin in the spring from the Charlotte County facility.

In an early Thursday news release, Allegiant noted its first flight to Bangor, Maine departed PGD at 9 a.m. with a discounted ticket rate available for the day.
