Laugh along as the women explore fundraising with their eyebrow-raising calendar at Charlotte Players production of “Calendar Girls,” playing Feb. 8-25 at to the Langdon Playhouse.

The play is based on the true story of a group of women in Yorkshire, England who decided to make a risqué calendar to help raise funds for the Leukemia Foundation after one of the women loses her husband to the disease. Along the way, the friends share loss, experience the joy of getting help from their community and also learn that fame and a dose of notoriety can take a toll on their friendships, according to a news release.
